The occurrence transpired in Block 117 Bukit Merah View, where the corridor was swiftly cordoned off by the authorities. According to Lianhe Zaobao, about six to seven police officers were present, securing the scene and conducting preliminary investigations. The police, after an initial assessment, do not suspect foul play at this juncture.

The deceased’s roommate, a food delivery man, reportedly discovered the body and alerted the family. During the police’s routine inquiry, he was apprehended for alleged drug offences. The nature of these offences remains undisclosed as the investigation continues.

A particular neighbor, Mr. Zhang, recalled the visible decline in the deceased’s health over the years, noting his gradual weight loss and apparent discomfort.
