Singapore has witnessed an increase in COVID-19 infections over the past two weeks. The Ministry of Health reports that there are no signs of the variants being more transmissible or causing severe disease. Hospitalizations and ICU cases have risen but remain manageable.

Key Statistics and Factors

The estimated COVID-19 cases for the week of November 26 to December 2, 2023, rose to 32,035, up from 22,094 in the previous week. Factors contributing to this rise include waning immunity and increased travel and community interactions.

Health Precautions and Travel Advice

Authorities urge the public to practice good personal hygiene, stay home when unwell, wear masks in crowded places, and follow travel precautions. They also recommend using hospital emergency departments only for serious conditions to preserve capacity for acute care.

Vaccination Drive

The public is encouraged to stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccinations, with an additional dose recommended approximately a year after the last dose for specific groups, including those over 60, medically vulnerable persons, and healthcare workers.
