On the morning of New Year’s Eve, a fire erupted at a Housing Board block on Marsiling Drive, resulting in the hospitalization of three individuals and the evacuation of approximately 70 residents. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the emergency call around 5.45 am at Block 7, Marsiling Drive.
Utilizing a water jet, the SCDF successfully extinguished the blaze. During the operation, the SCDF, with assistance from the police, managed to evacuate around 70 people from the vicinity to ensure their safety.
Three individuals affected by the fire were transported to Singapore General Hospital for medical treatment. The SCDF is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
