In a harrowing incident early on January 13th, a bus traveling from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur was involved in a fatal crash on the North-South Expressway in Malaysia, resulting in one death and several injuries.
Fatal Collision and Fire
The accident, which occurred at approximately 3.50 am, claimed the life of 17-year-old Indian tourist Ms. Yafatah Taj Fakrudin Hussaini. Alor Gajah District Police Headquarters Superintendent Arshad Abu confirmed that Ms. Hussaini was tragically trapped in the bus as it burst into flames following the collision. The bus, which was carrying 28 passengers, was en route to Kuala Lumpur from Singapore when the tragedy struck.
Serious Injuries and Escape
Two passengers sustained serious injuries in the incident. Mr. Peer Mohamed Kannudeen, a 69-year-old from Kalakad, Tamil Nadu, and Ms. Anissa Begum Fakrudin Hussaini, 45, from Chennai, were the victims of the fiery crash. Ms. Hussaini suffered third-degree burns as the bus was engulfed in flames after colliding with a motorcycle on the expressway. Additionally, two other passengers sustained minor injuries. The motorcyclist involved in the accident, 21-year-old Haziq Hilmi Razali, reportedly escaped without injury.
