An 80-year-old woman experienced a dramatic loss of vehicle control, resulting in her car breaching the fence of the Clementi Police Division Headquarters on January 27th.

Unfortunate Skid Leads to Crash

The incident unfolded around 5:55 pm when the elderly driver’s vehicle unexpectedly skidded and collided with the boundary of the police station located at 6 Lempeng Drive. Authorities quickly responded to the scene to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance.

Prompt Response and Hospitalization

Both the driver and her octogenarian male companion were found conscious despite the harrowing ordeal. Emergency services acted swiftly to ensure their safety and well-being. While the driver was extracted from the vehicle without delay, it took the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers a bit longer, approximately 15 minutes, to carefully remove the passenger from the wrecked car. Subsequently, both individuals were transported to the National University Hospital for a thorough medical evaluation and treatment.

The incident highlights the importance of road safety measures, particularly for elderly drivers, and serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of driving. Authorities are investigating the precise cause of the skid that led to this unusual crash at the police headquarters.
