Singapore has announced a significant shift in its COVID-19 measures, particularly regarding mask mandates in healthcare environments such as polyclinics, GP clinics, and other outpatient settings. Starting March 1, mask-wearing will not be compulsory under the temporary COVID-19 regulations for public transport and indoor healthcare and residential care settings. However, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will continue to recommend mask use for staff, visitors, and patients within healthcare and residential care facilities during patient interactions and in indoor patient-facing areas. This adjustment is part of Singapore’s broader strategy to transition to a new norm of living with COVID-19 as an endemic disease, reflecting the high level of immunity within the population and the stable COVID-19 situation both locally and globally.
