S Iswaran, the former Transport Minister entangled in more than 20 legal charges, including two related to corruption, encountered a health issue while in Australia. This development came during a sanctioned trip initially intended for assisting his son with university transition.

Court Approves Extended Stay

On March 4, Iswaran’s legal team secured an extension for his overseas stay, pushing the return deadline to 16 additional days beyond the original March 4 cut-off. The court’s decision came on the heels of Iswaran’s health incident, allowing him more time to recover.

Conditions for Extended Absence

The court’s approval came with the stipulation that Iswaran adheres to stricter bail conditions. The prosecution voiced no opposition to this extension, provided these enhanced terms are fully observed.
