A significant fire erupted at an industrial complex in Eunos, prompting an extensive response from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) on Tuesday evening, April 2. The blaze, which ignited at Block 1049 Eunos Avenue 6, saw the deployment of 70 firefighters and 19 emergency vehicles to tackle the flames that had engulfed three terrace workshop units.
The fire involved a mix of building materials and office supplies, creating an intense situation that required a formidable firefighting effort, including nine water jets and aerial water monitoring. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident.
Due to the proximity of the industrial area to the bustling Geylang Serai market and Paya Lebar shopping centers, SCDF has issued a public advisory urging people to avoid the affected region to ensure safety and smooth firefighting operations.
Local authorities further amplified this message by sending out alerts through the SGSecure mobile application and text messages to residents and individuals in the vicinity, across various telecommunications networks. The community is advised to stay informed and heed the directives issued by SCDF as they work to control and extinguish the fire.
