Singapore’s budget airline, Scoot, proudly welcomed its first Embraer E190-E2 aircraft during a handover ceremony at Embraer’s headquarters in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, on Thursday (Apr 11). This event marks the initial introduction of Brazilian manufacturer Embraer’s aircraft into a Singapore carrier’s fleet.
Celebratory Naming
The new jet, christened ‘Explorer 3.0’, symbolizes the third and latest addition to the Scoot fleet. The naming reflects Scoot’s commitment to expanding its horizons and exploring new opportunities in air travel.
Fleet Integration and Expansion
The E190-E2, the first of nine such aircraft slated for Scoot’s fleet, will make its journey to Singapore, arriving on April 15. Scoot plans to incorporate a second aircraft by the end of April and expects to add three more within the year. The remainder will be delivered in 2025.
Inaugural Flight Details
‘Explorer 3.0’ is scheduled to operate its inaugural flight to Krabi, Thailand, on May 7, showcasing the capabilities of this modern aircraft in enhancing Scoot’s service offerings and operational efficiency.
