A 2-meter-long python was rescued by the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES) after it was seen attacking vehicles in Teck Whye. The incident occurred near Block 136 Teck Whye Lane on April 27, witnessed by retiree Calvin Yeo and his son.
Python’s Rampage
As they drove down the street, Yeo and his son observed the python in the middle of the road, aggressively jumping at and appearing to bite the tires of at least five passing vehicles. The python’s unexpected behavior posed a danger not only to itself but also to the drivers.
Timely Rescue by ACRES
Responding to a call from the police, ACRES dispatched a team to the scene. The two workers successfully managed to secure the agitated python. Following its rescue, the snake was thoroughly checked for injuries to ensure it had not been harmed during its ordeal.
Safe Relocation
ACRES confirmed that the python was in good health and announced plans to release it back into a suitable habitat where it could continue its life away from human disturbances. This incident highlights the unexpected encounters with wildlife in urban areas and the importance of rescue organizations in managing such situations safely.
