Swift Evacuation in Bedok North Following Flat Fire

On the evening of June 6th, a significant fire erupted in a flat located on the seventh floor of a building in Bedok North, Singapore. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) swiftly responded to the emergency, arriving at a scene where the flat was heavily smoke-logged.

Response and Actions

Firefighters were forced to break into the flat to access and extinguish the blaze, which primarily consumed the contents of a bedroom. The fire was successfully put out using a water jet. Fortunately, no individuals were present in the unit at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries reported.

Community Impact

Approximately 100 residents from the building were evacuated as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety. These residents were temporarily displaced to allow for emergency operations and to prevent any harm from potential escalation of the fire.
