Fire at Ang Mo Kio Coffee Shop Leads to Evacuation of 18 Residents

In the early hours of June 11, a fire erupted at a coffee shop in Ang Mo Kio, prompting the evacuation of eighteen residents by the police. The fire broke out at GHK 407 Food House, located at Block 407 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.

No Injuries Reported

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The residents living on the second floor above the coffee shop were safely evacuated, ensuring their well-being amid the emergency.

Cause of the Fire

According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the fire is believed to have started due to unattended cooking at one of the stalls within the coffee shop. The SCDF shared this information in a Facebook post on June 11.

Damage Assessment

The fire caused significant damage to most of the stalls in the coffee shop. While the exact extent of the damage is still being assessed, the incident has disrupted the operations of the affected businesses and will require repairs and safety checks before reopening.
