Gas and electricity tariffs are set to rise over the next three months.
Electricity Tariffs
From July 1 to September 30, customers supplied by grid operator SP Group will experience a 0.3 percent increase in electricity tariffs compared to the previous quarter, as announced by the group on June 28.
Impact on Households
For households, this translates to a new tariff of 29.88 cents per kilowatt-hour before goods and services tax (GST), up from the current rate of 29.79 cents. Consequently, the average monthly electricity bill for families living in four-room Housing Board flats will increase by 35 cents before GST, rising from $118.03 to $118.38.
Reason for the Increase
The tariff hike is attributed to an increase in energy costs, affecting the overall pricing for consumers.
