The National Environment Agency (NEA) has announced that swimming and other water activities are once again safe at Changi Beach. Beachgoers can now return to enjoy the area without concern.

Impact Assessment

NEA stated that Changi Beach was not directly affected by the oil spill resulting from a maritime accident at Pasir Panjang Terminal over three weeks ago.

Affected Areas

On June 15, oil slicks stained the coastlines of East Coast Park, Labrador Nature Reserve, Keppel Bay, the Southern Islands, and Sentosa. Some oil was also observed off the coast of Changi, prompting precautionary measures.

Resumption of Activities

With the situation under control, NEA has confirmed the safety of the waters at Changi Beach, allowing the resumption of all swimming and water-based activities.
