Charges Announced by Police

Four men are set to be charged on July 11 for offences related to the operation of unmanned aircraft in protected areas, according to a statement released by the police on July 10.

Specific Charges

The individuals will face charges for operating an unmanned aircraft over a protected area, engaging in prohibited photography using an unmanned aircraft in a protected area, and failing to obtain the necessary Class 2 activity permit required to operate an unmanned aircraft at altitudes exceeding 60 meters above mean sea level.

Previous court cases involving similar offences have resulted in fines ranging from $4,000 to $45,000 for the violators. Additionally, 294 other drone operators have been issued composition fines, stern warnings, or advisories for related infractions.
