A 25-year-old foreign national suspected of drug trafficking was arrested on July 16 following an intelligence exchange between the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and its Hong Kong counterpart.

Details of the Seizure

Approximately 4.15kg of Ice, or methamphetamine, valued at around $500,000, was discovered concealed in the base structures of two ornamental lion figurines.

Location and Arrest

The suspect was apprehended in the Changi South area shortly after depositing a package containing the lion figurines at an airfreight warehouse nearby.

Individuals found guilty of trafficking more than 250g of methamphetamine in Singapore may face the mandatory death penalty. The authorities continue to investigate the case to uncover further details.
