New ‘Short Trip’ Bus Service 50A to Serve Sengkang and Ang Mo Kio During Peak Hours

Starting September 30, commuters traveling from Punggol East to Ang Mo Kio via Sengkang will have access to a new “short trip” bus service, 50A. Operated by SBS Transit, this new service will cater to public transport users during weekday morning peak hours, providing greater convenience for those commuting to Ang Mo Kio.

Route and Schedule for Service 50A

Bus service 50A will cover a total of 32 bus stops, starting at the stop after Punggol Field and terminating at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8, near Ang Mo Kio MRT station’s Exit B. The service will run only on weekdays, with no operations on weekends or public holidays. The bus will offer four trips each morning, departing at 6:00 am, 6:36 am, 8:18 am, and 8:39 am.

Designed for Peak-Hour Commuters

Targeting commuters during the morning rush, Service 50A is designed to alleviate congestion and improve connectivity between key residential areas and Ang Mo Kio. This addition to the public transport network provides a more efficient route for those traveling from Punggol and Sengkang, giving them an alternative for faster access to Ang Mo Kio MRT station.

Expanding Public Transport Options

The introduction of Service 50A is part of SBS Transit’s ongoing efforts to enhance the public transport system and meet the growing needs of commuters in Singapore’s expanding residential areas.
