Fishball Product Recalled After Singapore Food Agency Detects Undeclared Allergen

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has announced the recall of a fishball product after it was found to contain an undeclared allergen—egg. The product in question, Jing Li Hwa Fish Ball with Fish Roe Filling, is imported from Taiwan by China Frozen Food, the SFA said in a statement on October 3.

Risk for Egg-Allergic Consumers

SFA warned that consumers who are intolerant of or allergic to eggs may experience allergic reactions if they consume the product. The recall is being conducted to safeguard individuals who may be affected by the undeclared allergen.

Recall Action to Protect Public Health

The recall underscores the importance of accurate food labeling, especially for allergens, and highlights the steps being taken by SFA to ensure consumer safety. Individuals with egg allergies are advised to avoid the product and discard any purchased packages.
