New Flights to Boost Capacity on Singapore-Darwin Route
Qantas has announced that it will resume flights between Singapore and Darwin in 2025, marking the first-ever Airbus A220 flights from Singapore. Starting March 30, 2025, the Australian airline, operating through its regional brand QantasLink, will fly five times a week between Changi Airport and Darwin using 137-seat Airbus A220 planes. The announcement was made on October 16.
Expanded Capacity with New Aircraft
The introduction of the Airbus A220 on this route will add more than 10,000 extra seats annually, boosting travel options between Singapore and Australia’s Northern Territory. The A220, a European-made aircraft by Airbus, will make its debut in South-East Asia with this service. Additionally, this will be the first time Qantas operates the A220 outside Australia.
A Significant Milestone for Airbus A220 in the Region
The launch of the Airbus A220 on the Singapore-Darwin route highlights a significant milestone for both Qantas and Airbus in expanding operations within the region. The A220 is known for its fuel efficiency and comfort, making it an ideal choice for regional flights.
As Qantas prepares to reintroduce this route, travelers can look forward to increased capacity and more convenient travel between Singapore and Australia’s Northern Territory.
