Heavy Bombing in Beit Lahia Leaves Dozens Trapped Under Rubble

At least 73 people, including women and children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the northern Gaza city of Beit Lahia late on Saturday night, according to local authorities run by Hamas. The bombing caused significant devastation, with dozens of others injured and many residents still trapped under rubble, as rescue efforts continue.

Conflicting Reports on Casualty Figures

While Hamas authorities have provided a death toll, Israel has stated that the figures reported by Gaza officials are “exaggerated” and do not align with information held by its military. Israeli officials are currently verifying reports of casualties in the aftermath of the strike.

Widespread Strikes Across Gaza and Lebanon

Israel’s air force has reported attacking approximately 175 “terrorist targets” in Gaza and Lebanon within the past 24 hours, as fighting continues across the region. In southern Lebanon and Beirut, additional clashes were reported on Sunday morning, with smoke seen rising above the city.

Hamas officials claim that the airstrike in Beit Lahia targeted densely populated residential areas, exacerbating the destruction and loss of life in the region. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to exchange strikes amid the ongoing conflict.
