S. Iswaran Arrives at State Courts to Begin 12-Month Jail Term
Former transport minister S. Iswaran arrived at the State Courts on October 7 at 3:32 p.m. to begin serving his 12-month jail sentence. He was accompanied by a relative and flanked by his defence team from Davinder Singh Chambers as he surrendered himself ahead of the 4 p.m. deadline.
No Appeal Against Sentence
Iswaran, who was sentenced on October 3, has chosen not to appeal the decision handed down by the High Court. Upon arriving at court 4A, he handed over his identity card to court officers, marking the start of his sentence. The former minister’s legal team has been by his side throughout the proceedings.
