Singaporean Woman’s Body to Come Home After Fatal Fall in New York

In a heartbreaking incident, a Singaporean woman met with a tragic accident in the United States. The 39-year-old lost her footing and fell from a 30-meter high cliff at Minnewaska State Park Preserve in New York. The woman, identified as Nur Aisyah, was enjoying the scenery at the park with her husband when the unfortunate event occurred.

The Incident

The accident happened on December 22, 2023, when Nur Aisyah, accompanied by her husband, Abdul Rauf Mohd Said, was visiting the Minnewaska State Park. According to reports, she fell approximately 100 feet and sadly did not survive the fall. Despite efforts by medical staff to resuscitate her for nearly three hours, their attempts were unsuccessful.

Husband’s Heartbreaking Revelation

Abdul Rauf Mohd Said, deeply affected by the loss of his wife, shared the tragic news on Facebook. He expressed his profound grief and disbelief over the sudden loss of his wife. In his posts, he lamented not being able to reach her in time and conveyed his heartbreak over the incident.

Arrangements for Repatriation

Abdul Rauf has made arrangements with Singapore Airlines to fly his wife’s remains back to Singapore. He mentioned the completion of the autopsy and his hopes for an early return of his wife’s body. Despite facing stringent regulations, he requested an exception from Singapore Airlines to bring back her remains on a flight scheduled for the morning of December 27.

Community Support

In his social media posts, Abdul Rauf also expressed gratitude towards three sisters who were present at the park. After hearing his cries for help, they made their way down the cliff to reach his wife during her final moments, providing support and assistance.
