Extended Public Transport Services for Chinese New Year’s Eve Celebrations

To accommodate the festive rush on the eve of Chinese New Year, February 9, public transport operators SMRT and SBS Transit have announced extended services for both buses and trains, ensuring revelers can travel safely and conveniently during the celebrations.

Extended Train Services for Easy Commutes

Passengers can expect train services to be extended by approximately two hours across several lines. This includes the North-South Line (NSL), East-West Line (EWL), North East Line (NEL), Circle Line (CCL), Downtown Line (DTL), Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), and Sengkang-Punggol LRT (SPLRT). However, it’s important to note that there will be no extensions for the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit and Changi Airport services, so travelers on these routes should plan accordingly.

Late-Night Bus Services for Continued Festivities

For those who rely on buses for their late-night journeys, SMRT will extend the last departure timings for several bus services, including 300, 301, 302, 307, 983A, 901, 911, 912A, 912B, 913, 920, 922, and 973A, until about 3 am on February 10. SBS Transit will also extend the services of 24 bus routes, namely 60A, 63M, 114A, 181, 222, 225G, 228, 229, 232, 238, 240, 241, 243G, 261, 269, 291, 292, 293, 315, 325, 410W, 804, 812, and 974A, to ensure passengers reach their destinations safely after the New Year’s Eve festivities.

Passengers are encouraged to check the specific last train and bus timings, which may vary depending on the route and starting point. Planning ahead will ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the Chinese New Year celebrations without worrying about their journey home.
