Syndicate Member Faces Multiple Charges After Islandwide Operation

Chua Wee Ming, 33, an alleged key figure in a syndicate linked to the illegal sale of e-vaporisers, appeared in court on October 18, facing nine charges. Authorities have connected him to vaping-related products valued at over $6.5 million.

Arrest Follows Large-Scale Operation

Chua was arrested on October 10 during an islandwide operation conducted by the Singapore Police Force and the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). In a joint statement, authorities indicated that Chua is suspected of orchestrating the importation and distribution of e-vaporisers from Malaysia into Singapore, supplying them to local residents.

Multiple Offences Including Cheating

The charges against Chua include cheating and performing an act that could obstruct the course of justice. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to dismantle the syndicate responsible for the illicit vaping products.

This case highlights Singapore’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal vaping and the distribution of related products, which are banned in the country due to health concerns.
