Construction for the much-anticipated NS Square, poised to be a new national landmark, officially commenced on March 19, 2024, in Singapore’s vibrant downtown Marina Bay area. This project marks a significant step forward in the city-state’s continued efforts to enhance its urban landscape and public spaces.

A Venue for the People

NS Square is set to replace the existing floating platform, with plans for a grandstand that can accommodate approximately 30,000 spectators. This expansion will enable a larger audience to partake in the annual National Day Parade festivities, among other significant national events, fostering a stronger sense of community and national pride among Singaporeans.

Project Timeline and Vision

Originally announced in 2017 with a target completion date by the end of 2025, the NS Square project experienced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With construction now underway, the project is expected to reach completion by 2027. Upon its unveiling, NS Square will stand as a testament to Singapore’s resilience and forward-looking vision, serving as a gathering place for citizens and a symbol of national unity.
