COE Prices for Cars Rebound

In the latest tender exercise that concluded on June 20, Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices showed mixed results, with premiums for cars rebounding after a previous dip.

Category A and B COE Prices Rise

The COE price for smaller, less powerful cars and electric vehicles (EVs) in Category A saw the most significant increase, rising to $90,889. This marks a 3 percent increase from $88,200 in the previous tender on June 5. Similarly, the premium for COEs in Category B, designated for larger, more powerful cars and EVs, climbed to $102,334, reflecting a 1.7 percent rise from $100,607 two weeks ago.

Motorcycle COE Prices Increase

Motorcycle COE prices (Category D) also experienced a slight uptick, increasing by $13 to reach $9,002.

Decline in Open Category and Commercial Vehicle COE Premiums

Conversely, the Open category COE (Category E), which can be used to register any vehicle type other than motorcycles but is typically used for larger, more powerful cars, saw a decline. The premium fell to $100,000, a 1.6 percent decrease from $101,600 previously. Commercial vehicle COE premiums (Category C) also dropped, closing at $69,900 compared to $70,589 in the last round.
