A series of deadly blasts in Nigeria, suspected to have been carried out by female suicide bombers, have resulted in the deaths of at least 18 people and injuries to 30 others. The attacks occurred in the northeastern Borno state.
Attack Details
One of the bombings took place during a wedding ceremony on Saturday, killing six people and injuring others. The coordinated attacks targeted the wedding, the victims’ subsequent funeral, and a hospital in the town of Gwoza, near the border with Cameroon.
Confirmed Death Toll
Authorities have confirmed 18 deaths from Saturday’s attacks, including children, adults, and pregnant women. The state’s emergency management agency continues to assess the situation and provide assistance to the injured.
