Damaged Pipe in Marine Parade Repaired After Flooding, Roads Fully Reopened
A damaged underground water pipe that caused flooding in Marine Parade has been repaired, and the affected roads have been fully reopened to traffic. The pipe was struck on the morning of October 4 by a contractor working on a lift shaft for a pedestrian overhead bridge on Still Road South.
Flooding Affects Roads, Playground, and Lift Pit
The accident led to muddy water flooding surrounding roads, common areas, and a nearby playground. Additionally, the flooding damaged the lift pit at Block 67 Marine Drive, rendering it unusable. Water continued to flow throughout the area until repairs could be completed.
Pipe Repaired and Traffic Resumed
In an update posted by the national water agency PUB on October 5, it was confirmed that the damaged pipe was successfully repaired at 4:40 p.m. The leftmost lane of Still Road South, heading towards Eunos Link, was also reopened to traffic following the completion of repair work, restoring normalcy to the affected area.
