A Singaporean man who attacked a Malaysian actor with an extendable baton during a fan meeting at Singapore Expo in March 2023 was sentenced to two years, four months, and two weeks in jail on April 25.

Assault at Fan Meeting

Muhammad Nabil Rashid, 34, assaulted Mr. Ahmad Kamal Ahmad Adli, a 36-year-old Malaysian actor, during a public event at the Singapore Expo. The attack occurred during a fan meeting, shocking attendees and causing significant distress.

Reason for Attack

According to the court, Nabil’s actions were driven by delusions that Mr. Kamal had molested a female relative of Nabil’s. This led him to violently confront the actor with an extendable baton, inflicting serious injuries.

Plea and Sentencing

Nabil pleaded guilty to one count of assault and two counts of using criminal force on another person. He was sentenced to over two years in jail for the attack on April 25. His sentencing took into account the severity of the assault and the public nature of the incident.
