In a pioneering move for Singapore’s public transport, three new Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL4) stations—Marine Parade, Marine Terrace, and Bayshore—will offer underground bicycle parking. This initiative marks the first time that MRT stations in Singapore will provide such facilities, enhancing convenience for cyclists.
Launch Details
Scheduled to commence operations on June 23, these stations aim to cater to the increasing number of cyclists in the city. The introduction of these facilities is part of a broader effort to integrate cycling with public transport, making commuting smoother and more efficient for daily travelers.
Capacity and Allocation
The new stations will collectively house nearly 800 underground bicycle parking lots. Marine Parade Station will feature 364 lots, Marine Terrace Station will have 202 lots, and Bayshore Station will accommodate 204 lots, providing ample space for cyclists to secure their bikes away from weather elements while they travel.
