A Rock Monitor, a species of monitor lizard native to Africa, was discovered in a Punggol flat last week. This species is typically grey-brown with yellowish or white markings and is not native to Singapore.

The National Parks Board (NParks) announced on Wednesday, July 3, that they are investigating how this non-native lizard ended up in the Punggol flat. NParks is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the lizard’s presence in the country.
