Evacuation Due to Robot Fire

On July 8, patients in a ward at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) were evacuated after a cleaning robot caught fire while charging.

The fire triggered the hospital’s sprinkler system and activated the SGH response team. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) reported that the fire, which occurred on the sixth floor, was extinguished by the sprinkler system before their arrival.

Fire Warden’s Assessment

By the time the hospital’s fire warden arrived at the scene, the fire had already been successfully extinguished, ensuring the safety of all patients and staff in the area.
