The storm left more than 167,000 customers without power, as reported by Toronto Hydro. The city’s fire service received numerous calls from people trapped in lifts after large areas of the city center lost power during working hours.

The Don Valley Parkway, a major motorway running alongside the Don River, was blocked in both directions due to flooding. Authorities rescued at least 14 people, including one individual who had to be rescued from their car’s roof.
