The Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert 2024 is set to take place on August 4, offering a vibrant celebration in honor of Singapore’s 59th birthday. This free event, held at The Meadow in Gardens by the Bay, will feature a star-studded lineup of performances and activities designed to bring the community together under the theme “Our Home, Our Heart, Our Singapore.”
Star-Studded Performances
The concert will showcase an eclectic mix of local talent, with performances by well-known Singaporean artists such as Benjamin Kheng, Olivia Ong, Taufik Batisah, and Shabir. Benjamin Kheng will perform the National Day Parade theme song “Not Alone” live for the first time, while Olivia Ong will debut her latest single “光影” (Azure).
In addition to the headline acts, the concert will feature performances by veteran musicians like Liu Ling Ling, Rahimah Rahim, and John Klass, who will bring back classic Singaporean songs such as “Singapore Town” and “Geylang Sipaku Geylang.” The event will also include modern hits performed by artists like Sezairi and music duo Jack & Rai.
Family-Friendly Activities
The concert will kick off at 4:30 PM with a range of carnival-themed activities, including go-karting and fun games for all ages. Attendees can also purchase limited-edition #SGYesWeCan tote bags, with proceeds going to Gardens by the Bay’s Gift of Gardens initiative, which provides free access to the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest for disadvantaged communities.
A Celebration of Community and Culture
This year’s concert is not only a musical spectacle but also a celebration of Singapore’s diverse cultural heritage and community spirit. The Diverse Abilities Dance Collective will perform for the first time at the concert, adding to the vibrant lineup of performances by community groups.
