Public Invited to Explore Istana Grounds and Cultural Activities
The Istana will open its doors to the public on October 20 from 8:30am to 6:00pm in celebration of Deepavali. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the historic grounds and enjoy a refreshed tour showcasing the heritage of the Istana.
Highlights of the Istana Tour
During the open house, visitors can take guided tours every half-hour from 9:00am to 4:00pm, available in both English and Mandarin for groups of 20 people. Highlights of the tour include the Japanese Garden, Villa, Ceremonial Plaza, and the Inclusive Garden. For those who prefer to explore at their own pace, self-guided tours will also be offered.
Activities, Performances, and Souvenirs
In addition to the tour, a variety of arts performances, activity booths, and food and beverage stalls will be available. Families can enjoy interactive activities such as a scavenger hunt. Souvenir collectors can purchase limited-edition Istana and President’s Challenge memorabilia, with all transactions made cashless via credit or debit cards or QR codes.
