Fire Extinguished Before SCDF Arrival
Twenty people were evacuated from Lucky Plaza on Sunday, October 20, after a fire broke out on the sixth floor of the popular shopping mall. The fire involved a charcoal stove inside one of the units, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
Members of the public acted swiftly, using buckets of water to extinguish the blaze before SCDF personnel arrived on the scene.
Evacuation and Injuries
Around 20 people evacuated the building before emergency responders reached the site. Two individuals were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for medical treatment, though their condition remains unknown.
Cause Under Investigation
The SCDF has confirmed that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Fortunately, the quick response by the public and SCDF helped prevent further damage and injuries in this incident at the Orchard Road shopping destination.
