Marina Bay Sands has ramped up crowd control measures for its captivating dragon drone shows after the inaugural performance raised safety concerns due to large gatherings and insufficient crowd management. The breathtaking display, which features 1,500 drones forming a dragon across the Marina Bay skyline, is a celebration of Chinese New Year and has attracted massive audiences.
Increased Security and Viewing Recommendations
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, additional security personnel will be deployed, and the comprehensive security plans typically reserved for major events will be activated. Attendees are encouraged to explore alternative viewing spots around the bay, as the 10-minute spectacle is visible across the entire 3.5km stretch of the Marina Bay waterfront, offering numerous vantage points away from the dense crowds at the main viewing area.
The Show Must Go On
Despite the challenges faced during the first show, including a heavy downpour that tested the resolve of the attendees, the spirit of the spectators remained undampened. The allure of witnessing the “Legend of the Dragon Gate” unfold in the night sky ensured that the crowd remained, with some individuals waiting for up to two hours to experience the magic of the drones painting the mythology of the Dragon King.
The remaining shows are scheduled to light up the Marina Bay skies on selected dates, promising a mesmerizing experience for all who attend, with the improved crowd control measures in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable viewing experience for everyone.
