Singapore’s Ministry of Defence has announced that eight F-35A Lightning II stealth fighter jets from the United States Pacific Air Forces will be in Singapore from March 1 to March 7. This visit, serving as both a stopover and a collaborative training opportunity with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), precedes the jets’ participation in a military exercise in Thailand. During their stay, the F-35As will engage in dissimilar air combat training with RSAF’s Boeing F-15SG jets and undergo air-to-air refueling exercises with RSAF’s A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport. The training exercises are scheduled to take place over the southern South China Sea, within the bounds of international airspace.
