In the early hours of March 12, a fire sparked by a power bank in a Balestier apartment led to the evacuation of approximately 100 individuals. The incident occurred in a 26th-floor unit of Citadines Balestier Singapore, located at 207 Balestier Road. Responding to the emergency around 5.30 am, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) managed to extinguish the fire using a hose reel. While the SCDF conducted an assessment for smoke inhalation on one individual, the person chose not to be hospitalized. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the SCDF.
