In Sengkang, a crane incident at a Public Utilities Board (PUB) construction site led to the hospitalization of a van driver after his vehicle was crushed under a fallen crane. The mishap occurred at the intersection of Punggol Road and Compassvale Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses report that during the process of loading the crane onto a trailer, it lost balance and toppled, landing on an adjacent parked van. The impact severely damaged the van and its 28-year-old driver was promptly taken to Sengkang General Hospital in a conscious state.
Following the accident, the 49-year-old crane operator was taken into custody by the authorities. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
