The Singapore Traffic Police announced on Monday night (Apr 22) that walk-ins for some driving licence services will no longer be allowed from May 13. This move comes as part of the launch of an online appointment service for those seeking to change driving licence particulars or convert a foreign driving licence to a Singapore one.
Services Affected
The services that will require online appointments include:
- Changing the photograph on a driving licence
- Updating citizenship status
- Collecting or cancelling a driving licence
- Requesting a driving licence extract
For these services, individuals must book, change, or cancel their appointments online through the e-Services page on the Singapore Police Force’s website.
Conversion of Foreign Driving Licences
The Traffic Police will also transition to using an online form for applications to convert foreign driving licences. Applicants will be informed about the outcome of their applications via email within six weeks.
Transition Period
Walk-ins for the affected services will still be accepted until May 12. However, from May 13, all walk-ins will cease, with one exception: long-term visit pass holders seeking to renew or replace their driving licences.
Enhanced Efficiency and Customer Convenience
The new online appointment system aims to streamline the process for driving licence-related services, reducing the need for physical visits and improving efficiency. The Traffic Police encourages all customers to utilize the online platform for these services to ensure a smooth and convenient experience.
