Feature Films in the Spotlight

The feature films “Viet And Nam” and “Mongrel” are among the highlights, showcasing the talent of Singaporean director Chiang Wei Liang and producer Lai Weijie. Both films have received support through grants from the Singapore Film Commission (SFC) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

“Viet And Nam,” directed by Vietnamese filmmaker Truong Minh Quy, will be featured in the Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section, which is known for its focus on films that possess unique storytelling styles and explore non-traditional narratives.

“Mongrel,” directed by Chiang Wei Liang, will be showcased in the Directors’ Fortnight section. This independent segment runs parallel to the main festival and is renowned for its selection of innovative and adventurous works.
